A 2-storey front addition was added to the existing house to create a rental unit on the second floor. The addition created a home theatre in the basement while a new walk-out basement stairs was placed in the backyard. The ground floor got a new foyer and study while the rest of the existing ground floor was reconfigured to have a formal living room with a walk-thru pantry to the kitchen which looks onto an open concept dining and family room space. An expansive mudroom was created off of the garage along with a powder room. On the second floor, the addition holds a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit along with an open concept kitchen/living/dining space. The rest of the second floor maintains 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for the main house along with a new laundry closet. The existing curved stairs in the house were replaced with U-shaped stairs to make the layout more efficient. On the exterior, the front addition allowed the facade to be revitalized to a modern french chateau style. The oversized windows bring a sense of grandeur while the stucco and trim detailing emanate limestone. The mansard style roof caps off the addition. The sides and rear of the house were refreshed to match the front addition colour palette.
